A Centre of Innovation Excellence (CoIE) is a group of multi-country, multi-organisation, interconnected R&D actors and businesses that, by efficient planning, acting and cooperation, achieve a significant advantage in innovation success in a specific market.
CoIEs mainly exist to create new, self-sustaining businesses, which in turn drive employment, social responsiveness and more.
To be successful, CoIEs must comprise a range of actors in a suitable environment and nurture a cooperation culture to work across boundaries in various forms of partnership.

European Institute for Complex Safety-critical Systems Engineering [EICOSE]
EICOSE initially focuses on processes & methods for complex safety-critical systems in transportation domains: Automotive, Aeronautics and Railways (with a possible extension to Healthcare).
EICOSE unites and brings its constituent members (Aerospace Valley, SafeTRANS, SYSTEM@TIC, Technalia and AVL List) into a European dimension.

targeting the strengthening of European leadership within process automation.
ProcessIT.EU gathers automation technology, integrators and service providers with process plant owners, research organisations and public authorities to improve competitiveness through cooperation.
ProcessIT.EU incubates and implements strong R&D&I projects that both innovate and develop new globally competitive automation solutions. Successful example: ARTEMIS AIPP ARROWHEAD.
